Dragalevtsi House

A single-family house located at the foot of Vitosha mountain in Boyana, Sofia , the design of which is based on the principle of sustainable construction.   The house placement on the property aims to provide a private inner court with a pool and relaxation zones , but also to provide south and west orientation for the main living spaces in order to use the most of the natural light and the solar heat gain during the winter.

To achieve high energy efficiency of the building, high quality thermal isolations, floor heating with heat pumps and ventilation system are provided.

In order to aid the better insulation of the building, some of the flat roofs are covered with greenery. This is achieved using a system that has a minimal thickness in order not to overload the construction. The plans, chosen for the green roofs, do not require any irrigation and have minimal maintenance. A photovoltaics system is installed on the roof of the main building to cover the basic energy needs of the household.

Natural materials are used for the completion of the building in order to create a harmonious and healthy living environment.
