Asking The Team - Georgi Shumarski
We are pleased to introduce another one of the new members of our team. Arch. Georgi Shumarski is a young and ambitious talent who joined SGI this year, and his contributions are already highly valued.
What inspires you? I wouldn’t say that inspiration comes on its own. Most often, it is the thought that I am about to come up with something new and unique while keeping in mind the needs of those it is created for. What is your favourite part of the job?
It is hard to give one answer to this. I admit that the conceptual phase of each project is the one that put the biggest smile on my face.
**What is sustainability to you?** *Sustainability is Circularity;* *It is leaving as little footprint on the environment as possible;* *It is the responsibility;* *And last but not least, it is functionality.*
What is your definition of great design? Surely, sustainability is part of the definition of good modern design. For me, a good design is one that fully satisfies both the contractor's and the architect’s needs.
Where would the world be without architects?
I hope we never get to find out. While I don’t think that our profession is the most important for the human race, I do believe that it has put order and beauty even into places where it would have seemed impossible
Tell us about a project that you dream of working on
I would be thrilled to be given the opportunity to create a Multidisciplinary sports Olympic complex in Bulgaria. While I am not a sports person myself, I do like public buildings, facilities and complexes intended for sport.
